— REGINA —
a cocktail experience
OVERVIEW
summaries, quick quips + concise (for me) explanations
— intriguing & playful | sipped & savored | here & gone —
from Rex at the Royal's Dining + Beverage Manager, Joshua, a monthly, menu-driven series of inventive cocktails presented in an immersive and interactive setting in our candlelit mezzanine lounge
— a cocktail "experience" —
Regina is a once-a-month, menu-driven cocktail tasting. Four cocktails, available for one night only, make up the entirety of the exclusive beverage menu and playfully engage with the evening’s theme—exploring the boundaries of “cocktail” with culinary techniques, interactive play, and an often zany, sometimes brainy sense of humor that gets right down on all fours to beg you…
to never take Regina more seriously then she takes herself.
When those two things coincide, the details are simply an engaging point of entry and are therefor arbitrary, so full of meaning but meaningful only in their presence. It doesn't matter if you haven't engaged in the same activity as I have, you've still felt what I've felt and the cocktail is meant to connect you to that feeling through the lens of my experience. It's a narrative structure. In that sense Regina isn't the host,
— "menu-driven" —
Each month, the menu creatively engages with a theme—presented in adjective form as "Regina, a [--] cocktail experience"—with cocktails meant to evoke personal connections to universal, lived experiences while creating brand new ones. This unique process is hinged on two things: first, the cocktails are specific and detailed to the point of esoteric, often drawing exclusively from my own unique, unrepeatable (perhaps inadvisable) string of life choices, and second, the guest has an open mind.

It doesn't matter if you haven't engaged in the same activity as I have, you've still felt what I've felt and the cocktail is meant to connect you to that feeling through the lens of my experience. It's a narrative structure. In that sense Regina isn't the host,
she's the main character.
